Interior Design Programs at Top Texas Schools

Whether you are interested in becoming an interior designer or just want to learn about the field, a program at a Dallas interior design school can provide you with the education you need. Students will develop creative and technical skills as they learn to create residential and commercial spaces. They also explore color, construction and materials as they learn to analyze a space's function. They will also develop traditional design methods and use computer programs to create a full set of construction documents.

One of the best things about a program at a Dallas interior design college is that it is CIDA (Council for Interior Design Accreditation) certified. This ensures that students receive a quality education that meets industry standards. Upon graduation, graduates are eligible to apply for jobs and receive financial aid. A criminal background check is required for employment in this profession. Applicants must also have at least two years of experience before they can become certified. In order to qualify for this certification, they must take the National Council for Interior Design Qualification exam. In addition, the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners requires applicants to submit a $100 application fee.

The interior design program at The University of Texas at Austin offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in interior design. In this four-year program, students are able to study and experiment with various design methods. They are encouraged to engage in the community as they learn to create aesthetically appealing and functional spaces. During their studies, they are able to explore topics such as architecture, sustainability, innovation and social responsibility.

The Texas State University interior design program is one of the most well-rounded in the state. It incorporates design theory, art history, architecture and graphic communication into its curriculum. In addition, the program encourages student participation in the community, through internships and volunteer opportunities. In addition, there are a number of design studios that teach students how to work with diverse populations.

The Design Institute offers a four-year program in interior design. Students are able to pursue a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Applied Science. In addition to offering a variety of undergraduate programs, the Institute also has a graduate program in interior design. Tuition at the school is about $88,000 per year.

The Design Institute also has an in-house consultancy called SCADpro, which provides students with real-world design experience and prepares them for careers in the industry. They are also able to participate in networking opportunities and annual portfolio reviews.

The University of Texas at Arlington has an interior design program that is only available to students who have a four-year degree. The school's interior design department is supported by an advisory board that includes practicing interior designers. In addition, the school's interior design faculty have a wealth of professional connections and are passionate about teaching. Upon completion of their program, students are able to work for firms in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
