Goose Island

Goose Island Brewing opened for business on Clybourn Avenue near a warehouse complex in Chicago in 1988 as something revolutionary. At a time when beer in Chicago meant Bud and Miller from distant factories, founder John Hall opened his brewpub offering locals something more.

Today, the brewery remains a gathering spot for beer enthusiasts to come together. Crowds may be smaller but its spirit remains the same; beers are still brewed on site in large copper kettles behind glass panes before being served from large copper kettles at tables in front. Furthermore, there's also an extensive menu of appetizers and sandwiches available here as well.

Food at this bar may not be amazing, but it's still delicious. Fish and chips are crunchy yet moist while Moroccan meatloaf is tender yet flavorful; while their burger is served up with onion rings and fries for maximum enjoyment. Plus there's an impressive beer list and friendly service as well as ample parking at this family-friendly establishment!

The Hoosier Lounge

Bloomington, Indiana stands out as an impressive mixture of Buddhism temples and Afghan restaurants cohabitating with bald eagles, racing events such as The Greatest Spectacle in Racing, and delicious meatloaf sandwiches - making it the "EPCOT of mid-sized American cities". A vibrant mix of originality and flair, Bloomington represents something different than other mid-sized American cities: it has its own identity that stands apart.

Hoosier Lounge boasts art from Indiana artists and offers a finely curated menu of tasty nibbles from its Indiana artists, and boasts a deep cocktail list to suit everyone. Classic Manhattans, Calamansi Cosmos and beautiful Margaritas take their place alongside spirit-free beverages, rare spirits and original concoctions on its menu.

Come experience Indiana like never before with Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot of Sound Opinions at WBEZ Studios on Navy Pier's stunning outdoor terrace! Tickets cost $40; proceeds support Sound Opinions as well as Chicago Public Media. See you there!

The Globe

At this self-serve bar, you can test your knowledge with questions on popular culture topics like Sex and the City, Parks and Recreation and Harry Potter - winning teams even receive free drinks!

Gather a team and head to this Gold Coast bar for trivia with beer and food specials, competition for prizes like shot and gift card rounds and even a grand prize reserved annually for the top team!

The Globe Theatre was constructed by Shakespeare and his brother in 1611-12. They used timber from an earlier theatre known as "The Theatre", leased to Giles Allen; when Giles Allen's lease expired, The Burbages disassembled The Theatre piecemeal before transporting it over the Thames for reconstruction into The Globe Theatre.

Pilsen's eco-friendly bar serves craft beers and Mexican-influenced pub food. Join Geeks Who Drink trivia Tuesdays and Brain Sportz Wednesdays; first and second place teams get money off their tabs!

The UChicago Pub Quiz

At a dimly-lit pub in its back room, a crowd gathers around a pool table and tables covered with beer and food, enjoying staccato thwacks from cue balls as chatter and cheers rise above noise level. Tuesday trivia night brings out alumni and grad students alike who form teams and answer questions on movies, geography, astronomy and history among other topics.

Geeks Who Drink hosts one of Chicago's toughest pub quizzes every Thursday at their bar: this weekly challenge hosted by Geeks Who Drink. Unlike most quizzes open to anyone, it requires University of Chicago students only. Teams compete for prizes; special offers at Geeks Who Drink include $5 Ballast Point drafts and Modelo tallboy cans!

UChicago Pub Quiz enjoys a dedicated following, with many fans coming back every time the quiz takes place. "I love the staff and vibe," states one local. It provides an ideal platform for meeting people; plus they boast some of the finest burgers and wings in town!
