The Forum is an inclusive space designed for community building and collaboration, featuring seating, tech tables for charging devices and free WiFi. Open seven days a week to students from all majors.
Antiquity's term for multipurpose, centrally located open areas surrounded by colonnades and public buildings was known as a forum - an orderly adaptation of Greek agora marketplace and Acropolis.
Roman cities' Forum was at the heart of daily life and served as the location for political, judicial, commercial and religious activities - such as elections, public speeches, criminal trials, religious ceremonies, educational events and gladiator fights. Additionally, this gathering place hosted several significant government structures like Senate House's Curia; Temple of Saturn for prayers to one of their gods; Rostra as a platform where senators would deliver their speeches to citizens gathered there; etc.
The Forum has also hosted many legendary musicians over time, such as Jethro Tull (five sold-out shows in seven days in 1975), Kiss (two consecutive nights from February 23-25 1976 and three sold out shows during 1977 - recorded and later released as Alive II live album), and many others.
