Wisconsin is known for its diverse economy, and its top municipalities showcase this wealth through their high median household incomes. Oconomowoc Lake, Chenequa, and Lac La Belle: Waukesha County's Wealthy Municipalities

The Village of Oconomowoc Lake tops the ranking with a median household income of $239,107. Along with Oconomowoc Lake, the Village of Chenequa and Village of Lac La Belle, both also located in Waukesha County, are amongst the top three wealthiest municipalities. Waukesha County is indeed a haven for some of the wealthiest in the state.

Other Wealthy Municipalities

Other notable municipalities making the list include the Village of River Hills, Village of Maple Bluff, and Village of Wrightstown. These affluent municipalities have their charm and are the epitome of prosperity in Wisconsin.

Median Household Incomes Across Municipalities

The range in median household income among these richest municipalities is quite broad. In the Village of North Prairie, the median household income is $132,043, while Oconomowoc Lake leads with a substantial $239,107 median income.

Not only are some of the wealthiest municipalities in Wisconsin, but Wisconsin also boasts of cities with high median incomes. Good quality of life, successful industries, and thriving community ties are common themes in these cities.

Mequon: Wealth and Tranquility

Mequon tops the list as the wealthiest city in Wisconsin, known for its suburban tranquility and access to city amenities. The median household income in Mequon is a staggering $135,000.

Whitefish Bay and Fox Point: Natural Beauty and Community Spirit

Whitefish Bay and Fox Point follow closely behind, with median household incomes of $134,000 and $121,000, respectively. Both cities offer a serene atmosphere, safe streets, and proximity to nature's beauty, making them desirable places to live.

Elm Grove and Brookfield: Safety and Community Values

Elm Grove in Waukesha County and Brookfield located just outside of Milwaukee are cities that provide a safe environment along with community values. With median household incomes of $115,000 and $111,000 respectively, they showcase the wealth of the region.
