The grand opening took place February 1, with Fridley Theaters of Des Moines opening Palms Theatres & IMAX to the public for viewing on February 1.
Iowa's latest theater opened Wednesday with an original screen design. Cynthia Fodor from KCCI visited Palms Theatres and IMAX in Waukee to witness how Des Moines-based Fridley Theaters created such an exceptional facility.
At its heart is a 90-foot IMAX Laser GT auditorium - one of the largest in Pennsylvania - as well as two 75-foot Fridley-branded XL Digital auditoriums featuring Dolby Atmos sound, 56 speakers and screens reaching four stories high.
The XL Digital auditoriums boast G&S acoustical panels covered with suede fabric and illuminated with blue LED lighting for an unforgettable cinematic experience.
