Magical Uses of Magical Trees

April 4, 2023

No matter your magical practice, working with trees is a powerful addition to it. Utilize their energy by working with their bark, leaves, nuts, flowers and fruits to draw upon its potent magical power.

The three most well-known magical trees are the oak, hawthorn and apple; however, many other trees have rich folklore and have long been connected with magical power. While these less celebrated trees may not have as renowned a reputation as their more celebrated counterparts, they can add depth and an air of mystery to your work.

Magical trees have long been associated with spiritual deities, nature spirits and even nature itself. For their wisdom, beauty and healing properties they have long been revered around the globe.

They can also be employed to ward off evil and protect the home. Hang them from your porch or place them discreetly inside a window to keep out intruders.

The peach blossom, for instance, symbolizes renewal and fertility. It was also used in love potions across Europe as a sign of female sexuality.

Acorns and walnuts were believed to offer protection from lightning strikes and supernatural forces. Indeed, in ancient times it was customary to bury coins beneath these trees as offerings to Pomona, goddess of fruit and fertility.

Willow trees have a special place in folklore as being powerful and sacred trees. If you sit under one of these groves, it is said that you will receive divine inspiration, knowledge, and prophecy from within.

These trees have long been seen as guardians of the land, protecting against floods, fires, and crop destruction. Additionally, they've been employed as protective and healing plants; their wood having become a popular material for staffs and wands in witchcraft.

They are said to aid us in finding lost items and buried treasure. Their high concentration of magnesium, a natural antidepressant, helps relieve anxiety and depression.

Their bark has also been proven to be effective at relieving fever and pain. Indeed, the bark of this tree was once used to manufacture aspirin - still an invaluable medicinal product today.

It is also believed that the bark of a pine tree can be an effective weapon against snakes and spiders. People also use its bark for divination purposes.

In some parts of the world, it is even said that the bark of a pine tree can aid in finding lost objects or places with hidden power. Furthermore, its bark serves to ward off evil eye attacks as well as protect against trolls and pixies.

The staghorn fern has a long-standing magical tradition. It was used to ward off witches and demons, as well as being believed to be an herb capable of curing depression.
