After 2012's critically-acclaimed documentary The Queen of Versailles followed socialite Jackie Siegel and her family as they attempted to build America's largest single-family home, its follow up, The Queen of Versailles Reigns Again picks up where its predecessor left off. Discovery+ series "Villa of Versailles" follows the Siegel family as they work towards building their 90,000 square-foot mansion modeled on Versailles Palace. Reigns Again lacks the subtlety and depth of its predecessor to balance out its extravagant excess with deeper explorations of class and consumer culture, instead relying on classic reality TV devices such as cost breakdown chyrons that reveal each purchase's cost - only leaving Jackie frustrated and unfulfilled at the end.
