MEP Drawings

mep drawings

Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing drawings (MEP drawings) provide technical drawings with information regarding the installation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in building design. MEP CAD drawings depict piping routes and conduit runs, equipment layout plans and routing plans of electric wiring and ducting for maximum efficiency during building construction. It's crucial that MEP drawings comply with all relevant codes and standards to avoid costly structural problems during build up of structures.

MEP drawings are an integral component of building projects and should be prepared by certified MEP engineers. Ideal MEP designers should be experienced with using modern design software as well as having worked on numerous projects with architects, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders - as well as being familiar with various construction processes and materials.

MEP shop drawings are used to facilitate building construction and installation of MEP systems. They contain numerous details, such as floor plans, elevations, dimensions and sizes with design intent, blown up details and equipment schedules - so contractors can easily coordinate and install MEP systems without clashes or collisions occurring between components.

MEP drawings also include pipe spool drawings which provide a 3-D view of each piping run at any location. These drawings allow MEP teams to easily identify and resolve conflicts related to equipment layout, electrical piping, drainage channels or duct routes; as well as helping avoid structural problems caused by incorrectly placed pipes and joints.
