How to Clean Quartz Countertops

Cleaning quartz countertops is generally straightforward, though using the proper products and tools is key. Regularly wiping them down with nonabrasive cloth or sponge and mild detergent will keep the surfaces sparkling fresh without dirt accumulation - any excessive scrubbing may damage or dull them over time.

Quartz surfaces are generally stain-resistant, though it's wise to quickly wipe up colored liquids as soon as they appear in order to avoid permanent staining. If a stained area persists after drying completely, glass or surface cleaner such as Windex may help. Highly acidic cleaners such as nail polish remover, turpentine, oven cleaners, drain cleaners or bleach may dull its surface, so use caution if using these on quartz.

Rinsing quartz countertops after each use is also crucial in maintaining their beauty and sparkle. Doing this ensures all traces of cleaner are completely removed while also helping prevent grime or residue build-up on their surface.

As part of your maintenance routine, keep a plastic putty knife or scraper ready just in case of sticky food residue, glue or blood stains on your countertop. Rubbing alcohol can help break down these substances to leave it looking brand new again - or alternatively some baking soda may work to dissolve glues and inks as an effective solvent.
